Get Involved - Start-ups & Ideas

Creating a MiFriendly City

We wanted the communities of Coventry, Birmingham and Wolverhampton to take the lead in unlocking their cities assets, coming together to drive change at both city and regional levels.

Our regional migration initiative not only set out a programme of activities for migrants, but looked to engage with employers and the wider public to build a stronger community.

About MiFriendly Start-ups & Ideas

Unlocking the skills and ideas from within West Midlands’ communities can benefit everyone, and we wanted to see the region to become a hub for innovative thinking.
By supporting local and refugee and migrant entrepreneurs to start new businesses, MiFriendly Cities hoped to expand job opportunities and strengthen the wider economy.
The region also faces many social challenges – in areas such as housing and healthcare – we wanted to meet these challenges by nurturing and funding creative grassroots projects, which are aimed at improving the quality of life for everyone.
