Online Media Lab Training

 

Migrant Voice and MiFriendly Cities are hosting a special online Media Lab training session on Tuesday 30th June. 

There will be 2 interactive workshops:

Rakeem Omar: Rakeem is a BBC present, journalist for Birmingham Mail, and a documentary filmmaker. Having worked with BBC One and BBC Three, he’s currently a present on BBC WM, discussing the most impact stories across the West Midlands. As a Channel 3 Investigative Journalism alumnus, he is passionate about sharing the stories of those from underrepresented communities.

10:45am – 11:00am: Zoom connections and welcome
11:00am – 12:00pm: Session 1 – Community journalism skills with Rakeem Hyatt
12:00pm – 1:00pm: LUNCH BREAK
1.00pm – 2.00pm: Session 2 – Practical group writing activity with Rakeem Hyatt
2:00pm – 2:30pm: Q&A, wind down, finishing off projects, evaluation

ONLINE: via Zoom (log-in details will be sent out when you RSVP)

The session is free and open to migrants in the West Midlands.
