Community Innovation Workshops – Birmingham

Community Innovation Workshops – Birmingham

Do you want to improve your community? Got an idea? Or looking for inspiration?

We are looking for people who were born outside of the UK and want to get involved locally in the West Midlands and who would like to develop a grassroots project focusing on employment, health, housing or active citizenship.

The workshops will be a chance for you to:

• Hear about ideas that have worked and get inspired
• Learn how to turn your idea into action
• Meet like-minded people

If you would like to develop your idea further, you could win up to £5,000 as seed funding and get mentoring support to get your project started and make a real social impact where you live.

Where? Rivers of Gold, 2 The Square, 111 Broad Street, Birmingham, B15 1AS

When? November 21st 2018. Choose a time, either 11 – 2.30pm or 6 – 8.30pm

Who?

  • Individuals, or a group of individuals, born outside of the UK who are keen to set up or get involved with a community project, or who already have an idea for a project
  • Existing third sector organisation, such as a voluntary or community organisation, wanting to set up a new project
  • We recommend that those who come to the workshop have a good understanding of spoken English to get the most out of it. You can also bring a friend who can translate. There will be written material provided in English, but it is not essential for people to read and write.
